Olaf is a Director and Head of German Operations in the Berlin, Germany office. In addition to managing the German operations of Pharmerit, he leads a variety of projects across Pharmerit’s Centers of Excellence, working mainly on systematic literature reviews for reimbursement submissions, value and reimbursement dossiers, patient chart reviews, modelling of cost-effectiveness and budget impact, primary research with health care stakeholders and on the effective dissemination of outcomes. His projects have covered a wide range of disease areas, including oncology, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, infectious disease, and various orphan indications.
Before joining Pharmerit, Olaf worked as a Project Leader Global HEOR at Bayer Healthcare for almost 5 years. At Bayer, Olaf has worked on various products in different stages of clinical development. He has led projects in orphan disease areas during early phases of development as well as in major disease areas during late phase III and peri-approval. During his years as a consultant, Olaf developed a customer-oriented mindset, while his tenure at Bayer Healthcare taught him that close collaboration between global functions, country affiliates and external experts is required to develop successful strategies and effective HEOR deliverables in order to ensure market access at a national and subnational level. Olaf holds two MSc. degrees: one in Medical Biology from the University of Amsterdam and one in Health Economics, Policy and Law from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
