Charlie Iaconangelo is a Psychometrician and Statistician on the Patient-Centered Outcomes team. He holds a PhD in Psychometrics and a MS in Applied Statistics from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
His roles and responsibilities focus on regulatory interactions related to patient reported outcome (PRO) instruments in Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials. He has experience preparing, conducting, and reporting statistical/psychometric analysis, as well as representing sponsors at Type-C meetings. He also focuses on post-hoc analysis of clinical trial data to explore treatment efficacy, especially in circumstances where regulatory approval is uncertain. His research interests center on the development of novel methods to address shortcomings in current statistical/psychometric practice for endpoint development, estimation of meaningful change, and missing data handling. He has presented this research at conferences ranging from technical (Joint Statistical Meeting) to applied (ISOQOL). Additionally, he leads the training of junior staff in statistical programming as well as regulatory guidance and document preparation.
