Dr. Solem is the head of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Center of Excellence at Pharmerit, located in the Bethesda, MD office.
Caitlyn holds MS and PhD degrees from University of Illinois at Chicago’s department of Pharmacy Administration (now Pharmaceutical Systems, Outcomes, and Policy) and completed a three-year fellowship in health economics and outcomes research, sponsored jointly by University of Illinois at Chicago and Novo Nordisk. Since joining Pharmerit in 2010, Caitlyn has led a number of projects, with key technical expertise including statistical analysis; design and analysis of data from medical chart reviews and surveys; HEOR analysis alongside clinical trials; Q-TWiST analyses; identification, application and interpretation of patient- and observer-reported outcomes measures; utility elicitation methodologies; and SAS programming. Clinical areas of interest include respiratory medicine, infectious disease, oncology, addiction, and hemophilia. Dr. Solem was awarded the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) Stanley A. Edlavitch Award for her pharmacoepidemiologic work on methodologies for measuring medication exposure and Dean’s Scholarship for her doctoral research. Caitlyn has authored over 30 articles in journals including Archives of Internal Medicine, Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomics, and Value in Health. She has been a Euroqol Group member since 2010.
